Civil war, unrest, lockdowns, active shooters, and riots have become the new normal in recent years.  For those of us living in or near urban areas, having the gear and skills to survive where we live is essential.

Sure, maybe some of us have a bunker dug into a mountain stocked with supplies for the end of days, however, for the rest of us mere mortals, urban survival is an unfortunate reality that must be faced.

This type of survival situation can be triggered by many factors, from civil unrest to natural disasters and war.  Those unfortunate enough to be living in Ukrainian cities can surely attest to the absolute misery of urban survival, day in, and day out.

No power, no heat, food rationing, and the threat of death from the skies.  Lack of clean drinking water, limited or no access to medical services.

I kept that situation front and center as I choose items for my Urban Survival Kit.  Bear in mind that this list of gear is only as good as the experience and training you seek. 

It is my hope that some of these items can assist you in building a new survival kit or upgrading your current gear. 

It's important to remember that apart from tech-related items and specialized tools, the Urban list is basically identical to the packing list intended for Wilderness Survival.
